Abstract:

"A technique for inverting a canopy reflectance model to estimate agronomic variables, using spectral signatures in the infrared region, is described. Its use is illustrated, for a soybean canopy, using a few representative models, due to Suits, Verhoef and Bunnik, and Norman. An analysis of the sensitivity of the estimated agronomic variables, like leaf area index and leaf angle distribution, to random errors in the canopy reflectance data is is represented."
